Through MS word insert tab, we can create any type of Picture, Graph Chart, Table etc. in our paragraph. And all the commands in it are divided into groups. So let's see what commands and groups are there on MS Word insert tab.



What is insert tab?

Insert" tab, which offers a variety of tools for enhancing your document. This tab allows you to seamlessly incorporate elements like pages, images, tables, Word Art, Clip Art, Smart Art, hyperlinks, bookmarks, text boxes, date and time stamps, symbols, equations, and more into your document. This feature significantly enhances the quality and functionality of your Word document, making it even more versatile and effective.




What to do to bring a picture in a document?

To bring a picture in the document, first we have to go to the Insert tab in Word and there you will get the option of picture. By clicking on it, you can easily add any picture from your device or online.




1. Pages (MS Word Insert Tab Group)

There are some commands under Pages group like cover page, blank page, page break. Let us see what works they do.

A.Cover Page

With this command, we can apply a cover on any type of document having more than one page, like the one on a book. Through this, the beauty of our documents increases 2 times and makes them look even more professional. There are already some templates inside this command in which we have to add the name or photo of our documents on it.



B.Blank Page

As you all know that Blank Page means an empty page where nothing is written. But here its function is to leave a page completely blank inside our documents.


C. Page Break

By using Page break command we can leave some space in the document. Let us understand this process well. Let's say you are writing a book. There are many chapters in it. So when a chapter ends in the middle of a page, you start on a new page to write the next chapter. Sometimes you might have seen this in books also. These commands serve a specific purpose in this task.. Page Break, in one sentence, means leaving one page and starting from the beginning of another page.



2.Table

On MS word insert tab, there is a group named after table. In this context, you have the capability to add tables to your documents. When the user clicks on this command, some small spaces appear in it from where we can import the table on our documents as per our requirement.

3.Illustrations

A. Pictures

Through Pictures commands, we can add many images which are in our computer. Apart from that, we can also add images from the internet. There are two different commands to add them.





B. Shapes

There is a command named shape in MS Word insert tab from where we can add different types of shapes. Whatever shapes there are, all the shapes can be seen on it.


C. Icons

D. 3D Models

As you all might know that to show something graphically we need a chart. On which we can see and understand the data well. These are mostly used in the field of mathematics and science.



G. Screenshot

You all must have clashed with these terms. Screenshot means capturing a page that we see on a mobile or computer screen in the format of a photo. There is an option inside it through which you can save the entire screen or some part of the screen as a photo.





How to Take a Screenshot on a Computer/Laptop Using MS Word.

To take a screenshot on computer/laptop through MS Word, you have to follow some steps. Let's see what they are.


Step 1- First choose which page you want to take screenshot and keep it on.

Step 2 – There is a key in the right corner of the keyboard “Print Screen system request”. (This page remains copied automatically.)

3rd Step – Go to MS Word and paste it (Ctrl + V).

4th Step – Now it will come there, after that right click on the image and click on “Save As Picture”.

4. Add-Ins

Through Add-Ins you can add an extension to Word. Like Wikipedia. This helps you to know more about someone while working. Apart from that, there are many other add-ins which you can install with the help of internet from the store given there.


5. Media

There is a command on the media group, named Online Video, with the help of which we can embed a video from online on our documents. Through which we can put that video in the format of a code and we can watch that video on the same documents. But this work can be done only if we have a good internet connection.


6. Links (MS Word Insert Tab Group)

There are 3 types of commands in it. Let us see what his work is.

A. Hyperlinks

Hyperlinks means placing a link above any text. If you want to add your Facebook profile to a document, you can go to it and add the link of your profile. To see this link, the blue colored words are underlined. The short cut key for placing hyperlinks is (Ctrl + K).



B. Bookmark

You must have used it at some place or the other. Imagine you are reading a book and leave it after reading it halfway, then you give some marks for reading it halfway, so that it becomes easier to read it again and you do not have to worry too much about where you had left off earlier. . C. Cross Reference

Cross reference means referring one page to another page. Imagine that you like on a topic on a document which is a bit complicated to understand, then you can write it in details at some place inside your document, so that you can link it there so that a reader does not have to face any problem. 7. Comments

Through this, you can give some comments and tips on any word or paragraph of your documents.


8. Headers and Footers (Within the MS Word Insert Tab Group)

Header – Through this you can set header on your documents. In this, headings of most of the documents are written.

Footer – Through this you can set your footer. Most of the page numbers are given in this. If you want, you can give whatever you want in these header and footer which represents a big thing in a single word.

Page Number – In this you can set your page numbers and the designs available for them.


9. Text (MS Word Insert Tab Group)

This group is divided into two parts, one is Equation and one is Symbol.
